IB faculty publish in prestigious journal
[06.17.2013]

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida’s Integrative Biology faculty members Earl McCoy and Henry Mushinsky co-authored a study on habitat selection of the Florida gopher tortoise with Katherine Basiotis from the Wildlife Habitat and Kevin Connor from H. W. Lochner, Inc.

The study involved evaluating the increasing fragmentation of quality habitat of the native tortoise in our state, and examined aspects of tortoise avoidance behavior involved in seeking and selecting acceptable habitat.

Their findings are published in the journal Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology.
