AMS sectional meeting to be held at USF

TAMPA, Fla. -- For the first time, the American Mathematical Society (AMS) will be conducting its Southeastern Sectional Meeting at the University of South Florida. The conference, coordinated by Sherwin Kouchekian, will be held the weekend of March 10-11 in the Business Administration Building.

This conference will include 26 concurrent sessions and a keynote address, book sale displays and on-site registration. More than 450 participants from around the globe are anticipated to attend.

AMS Sectional Meetings are among the largest national meetings in mathematics society. Hosting this event is an honor for USF, after having submitted a bid back in 2009.

The goal of the AMS Sectional Meetings is to disseminate and exchange the latest ideas and developments in all active areas of research in pure and applied mathematics both nationwide and worldwide. This meeting will provide a unique forum for USF faculty to promote their research together with other experts in their related fields. Well-known leaders, top experts and scholars from all interdisciplinary fields in mathematics and Research I universities from around the world will be attending.
